Summer Project

Yesterday, I started one of many summer projects I plan on doing. This one is time consuming and I'll probably be working on it little by little for the next several weeks. What do you ask mihgt I be doing?

Well, I decided to update our trim in the interior of our home. The trim was a honey maple color that has seen better days (and is so 2002)!. With 3 kids and 2 cats, it was pretty scuffed up and looking sad. The color was also not working for me anymore. I wanted a change. Here are a couple before shots:

So far I have finished the front entryway, two walls and one window sill. It makes the place so much brighter and makes the gray walls pop (and the other white walls look so much dirtier). I guess that means I need to figure out how to paint our 20 foot walls!

Doesn't the black door just pop so much more now? I love it. I can't wait to finish up the whole house. I"m using Benjamin Moore Aura Paint in White Dove in case you were wondering. It's a perfect creamy white.

Happy Crafting,

  1. We have that same Honey Maple color of trim and SO SO SO want to paint it. What kind of paint did you use? Glossy, Matte, Satin?

  2. Holly, I used Benjamin Moore Aura in satin finish. I didn't want too shiny and the satin hides the flaws in the wood. ;)
