An Old Shutter

I got this old shutter a few months back from my best friend's Mom. She knew it had potential but didn't know what to do with it so she passed it onto me. I was delighted. This shutter had raw beauty. I kept tossing around ideas on what to use it for but finally decided on this. I stenciled the letters using my Silhouette vinyl and then distressed the heck out of them. I wanted the letters to look as old and worn as the shutter itself.

I think it turned out perfect. It looks great above my front window.
