Dresser Make Over

This dresser was a fun project. I love bright and fun colors so when my friend Heather asked me to redo a dresser for her daughter, I knew this was the project for me.

This dresser had been painted black years before and it was time for a fun face lift. Here it is after I stripped the paint off the drawer fronts and sanded the base:

And here she is after:

I love the fun hot pink drawer fronts. The pop of color this piece will add to a room is fabulous.

A Buffet Reinvented

I finally painted furniture! It feels like it had been forever since I picked up a brush and created some magic. This buffet was a steal of a deal and I had been on the hunt for a long dresser/buffet for quite some time. I needed to weed out some of the clutter in my craft room and rearrange the space.

Here's what the buffet looked like when I brought it home.

I love the look of the french provincial style but it can look outdated real fast! I knew the perfect solution would be to use ASCP in French Linen. I also spray painted the hardware with a leafy green color to give it that WOW! factor. I think I succeeded.

This beauty now resides in my craft room and stores all my fabric. I love it. It makes me smile.

A Dresser Reveal

I had the privilege of redoing a dresser for my little niece Heez. I found this beauty on Craigslist and knew it would be the perfect fit. It has clean mid-century lines which my sister loves and sweet hardware that give it that feminine touch.

I wanted to give it a fun update and started out with a purple accent color but totally hated it. It was too out there (even for me) so I dialed it back down and stuck with gray and white. The white ties into the rest of the furniture in my niece's room and the gray gives it a modern touch that she can grow up with.

Here is the before:

Here's the finished product:

I love the fun shelf paper I used to line the drawers and the numbers give it a a little punch of fun, too.  I hope you like it Heezy Bop! ;)

Redoing a Dresser...Again!

I originally made over this dresser last summer. You can see the transformation here. It has been in my laundry room ever since and holds things like light bulbs, cleaning supplies, etc. Since we redid the floors, I decided to paint the laundry room while it was empty. I used an aqua color that I had on hand to freshen up the space. Unfortunately, the dresser and the walls now blended together. I knew I would need to give this dresser another make over.

I wanted something that would pop and add some cheeriness to the small laundry space. I decided to go with yellow. I loved the previous stripes so I decided to keep them and add an extra fun element by keeping just a hint of the aqua. I used 2 inch painters tape to cover the old stripes. I had used 1 1/2 inch before so this allowed just a bit of ht aqua to remain. I gave it 2 coats of yellow and distressed it ever so lightly.

I love the pop of yellow in this room. I think it will almost make me enjoy doing laundry...I said almost! ;)
