This past weekend, my Hubby and I ripped out our old vinyl flooring in the kitchen, dining room, hallway, half bath, and laundry room. The vinyl was ugly, stained, ripped, and peeling and super hard to clean because of theses annoying little texture divots that loved collecting dirt. Did I mention they were white?. It was time. My dream is to replace all the flooring in our home with nice dark hardwood floors but that is not in the budget at the moment. So, we decided to use the peel and stick vinyl tiles. We went with the Gray/Brown by Armstrong that is sold at Lowes. It reminds me of slate.
This project was an fairly easy DIY that even the most inexperienced DIY'er could do. It just takes some patience and a little planning. For the entire area we redid, we spent roughly $270. Way more affordable and will last me until we can save up for the hardwood floors. The entire project took us 4 days but along the way, we also painted all of our trim molding white and also painted the laundry room. Those projects together took longer than the floors.
Here are the floors before:
They just peeled off so easily and were so thin. We were amazed that had even lasted that long!
Here's during when I was laying out the pattern.
Here are some pictures of the finished project. I shot these with my fisheye so excuse the slight distortion.

The Kitchen/Dining Room (excuse the mess...my kids trashed the joint while we were busy!):
I love, love, love how they turned out! It gives our house such a cleaner and more modern feel. What do you think?
